Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Paul wrote a second letter to the church at Corinth and began by reminding them that one of the duties of the Christian is to comfort those around them with the same comfort God has given each of us in Christ Jesus.  What a wonderful picture of the work of the BSCLN!  Our mission as an organization is to encourage, equip and enrich the ministries of small churches and their leadership.  It is my prayer that in the coming days and months you will see the BSCLN working very hard to attain that mission.  Our vision of how to do that is evolving daily as God provides His leadership and resources and we covet your prayers as we seek to fulfill the mandate placed upon us.

Are you going to the Southern Baptist Convention in Dallas, Texas June 11-13?  We will be there!!  Please, come by the Bivocational & Small Church Leadership Network booth in the exhibit hall and allow me to get to know you.  My wife, Pennie and I plan on being at the booth for the majority of the convention so as to greet as many of you as possible.  Would you come by and allow us to introduce ourselves to you?  We would love to meet you.

Once again, this year we will be having our luncheon for bivocational and small church leadership.  It will be held in Ballroom D3 on level 3 from 11:30 until 12:45.  Your ticket has been provided by the BSCLN and we have seating for 200.  Please come by the booth and pick up your free tickets to this wonderful time of being together with others who understand your ministry like no one else.  The only program during this time will be a few moments of my introducing myself as the new Executive Director and outlining some of the plans that are being developed for the future of the BSCLN.  There are some exciting opportunities in the future of the network and I pray each of you will not only be excited by them but committed to participating.

It is my greatest pleasure to serve you and the BSCLN.  Please pray for the BSCLN and myself as we make this journey together.
